DAY 1 - TUESDAY / LJUBLJANA

Ljubljana

Arrival at Ljubljana airport and transfer to the hotel. At 19.30 hrs briefing at the hotel reception with our guide. Overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 2 WEDNESDAY / LJUBLJANA - POSTONJA - BLED - LJUBLJANA

Ljubljana

Breakfast and continuation of the tour to Postojna, famous for its stalactite caves. The visit will take place by mining tourist train passing through the caves known as the Ballroom and Paradise. The highlight is the vaulted cave called the Concert Hall. Continue to the village of Bled with its iconic lake and its small island considered the most reproduced photo of Slovenia. Return to Ljubljana and overnight.

DAY 3 - THURSDAY / LJUBLJANA- ZADAR - SPLIT

After breakfast we continue our journey to Zadar, a city that was the administrative center of Byzantine Dalmatia, reaching its fame throughout Europe in the 17th century. Upon arrival, we will visit the ruins of the Forum Romanum and the 9th century Church of St. Donatus. We continue our tour to the main city of the Dalmatia region – Split. Accommodation

DAY 4 - FRIDAY / SPLIT

Split

Breakfast and visit of the city of Split, which was born from the colossal palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Strolling among its squares and along its captivating promenade on the Adriatic Sea, we will discover this city full of life. As relevant places we highlight: the Palace Vestibule, the Peristyle, the bell tower of the Cathedral of San Domnius, the Temple of Jupiter. Lodging.

DAY 5 - SATURDAY / SPLIT - DUBROVNIK

After breakfast we depart for Dubrovnik along the rugged Dalmatian coast, with an enchanting landscape of thousands of islands on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. Arrival and visit of the ancient city, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Points of particular interest are the 14th century Franciscan Church, the Rector’s Palace, the Cathedral and the Dominican Monastery. A masterpiece of the Renaissance that served as a defense to the citizens is the Minceta Tower, the largest of the Dubrovnik wall and the best preserved in Europe. Lodging.

DAY 7 - MONDAY / DUBROVNIK - MEDJUGORJE - MOSTAR - SARAJEVO

Breakfast and departure to Bosnia-Herzegovina with stop in Medjugorje, place of pilgrimage for the most recent apparitions of the Virgin Mary. Continuation to Mostar, former capital and emblematic city in the Bosnian war 1992-1995 for the destruction of the Old Bridge rebuilt in 2004. The city has been for centuries a great melting pot in which different cultures and religions are fused in a peaceful coexistence. The old town is the most visited part, with its medieval streets with small craft stores typical of the region. Continuation to Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The city is the religious seat of the Supreme Mufti of Muslims, the Metropolitan Bishop, the Serbian Orthodox Church and the archiepiscopal seat of the Catholic Church. It also gained international fame for the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria (1914) that ended up being the trigger for the outbreak of the First World War. Lodging.

DAY 8 TUESDAY / SARAJEVO

Sarajevo

Breakfast and visit of the city that fascinates by its multinationality as it goes parallel with a plethoric cultural diversification of many centuries that is evident in one of the major architectural attractions, the famous Husfreg Beg Mosque of the seventeenth century with its magnificent stalactite ornamentation under the dome. We also visit the picturesque bazaar “Bas Carsija” from the 15th century, located in the historical center of the city, the Austro-Hungarian Quarter and the Olympic Stadium. Free afternoon for shopping. Lodging.

DAY 9 - WEDNESDAY / SARAJEVO - ZAGREB

Breakfast and departure to Zagreb, capital of Croatia. Arrival and walk through the old town where the highlights are the Government Palace, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and St. Mark’s Church
