DAY 1 - THURSDAY / VIENNA

You will arrive at Vienna airport, and our driver will take you to your centrally located hotel. In the evening, you will meet your travel companions at a typical Austrian welcome dinner at the Marchfelderhof restaurant, well-known beyond the country’s borders. DAY 2 - FRIDAY / VIENNA

After breakfast at the hotel, we will take a panoramic city tour, which gives a very good impression of Vienna’s many sights. The aroma of Christmas pastries, mulled wine and roasted almonds fills the air. The old town and shopping streets are decorated with festive lights and put the city in a Christmas mood. We will visit the gardens of the historic Belvedere Palace, the former summer palace of Prince Eugene of Savoy. Enjoy the magnificent view of the city, immortalized by the artist Giovanni Antonio Canal in his paintings of Vienna. Continue along the Ringstrasse with its magnificent buildings such as the State Opera House, the Museum of Art History and Natural History, the Maria Theresa Monument, the Austrian Parliament, the Vienna City Hall, the National Theater and the Hofburg, seat of our Federal President. We will stroll through the small, idyllic streets of Vienna’s historic center and visit the interior of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the largest in the city. We will also pass by the Anchor Clock and the Jewish quarter. Then we will visit together with our guide the most famous Christmas market which is located at the Rathausplatz. At the entrance of the Vienna Christmas Market, visitors are greeted by a one-meter high arch with candles. The traditional Christmas market offers Christmas gifts, Christmas tree decorations, handicrafts, culinary delights, sweets and hot drinks.

DAY 3-SUNDAY/VIENNA - OBERNDORF SALZBURG

Breakfast and departure to Salzburg. Before arriving in the city of Mozart, a very special experience awaits us. Who doesn’t know the carol “Silent Night”? Few know that this song comes from Austria. “Silent night! Silent Night” has been translated into more than 300 languages and dialects, making it one of the most popular Christmas carols in the world. It was first performed on December 24, 1818 in St. Nicholas Church in Oberndorf near Salzburg. We visited the church and the Christmas market. In addition, a special post office offers us a unique opportunity to send letters to our loved ones with special Silent Night stamps. Afterwards, we stroll through the Christmas market and fortify ourselves with local delicacies. Arrival in Salzburg and overnight stay.

DAY 5 - TUESDAY/ SALZBURG - SWAROVSKI - INNSBRUCK

DAY 6 - WEDNESDAY/ INNSBRUCK

The smell of almonds and kiachln, lovingly carved nativity scene figures and colorful felt hats: the Christmas market is all about folk art. To the sound of the brass band in the Golden Roof tower, you can experience all facets of home: strolling through the fairytale alley or savoring mulled wine in the surrounding guest gardens.

 

DAY 7 -THURSDAY/ INNSBRUCK - NEUSCHWANSTEIN -MUNICH

NEUSCHWANSTEIN -MUNICH Breakfast and transfer to Neu – schwanstein Castle, built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, better known by his nickname “the Mad King”. The construction was inspired by the medieval castles of the “Teutonic Knights” and its halls allude to myths, fables and legends. Then visit of Linderhof Palace, the smallest of the three palaces built by Ludwig II of Bavaria, which was intended to emulate the Chateau of Versailles. In the afternoon, we continue our trip to Oberammer-Gau, famous for its re-enactment of the Passion of Christ, a tradition that dates back to 1633 and is performed every 10 years.
